    Glenn L. Beall
    President
    Glenn Beall Plastics Ltd.

     

    Glenn Beall is an engineer, author, seminar instructor, consultant, expert witness, inventor, and a plastics industry activist, but most of all he is a Product Designer.
    He has been involved in plastic product design since receiving his B.S. degree from Bradley University in 1957.  He has worked for General Electric and Abbott Laboratories before he and his wife Patsy formed their own Product Design & Development Company in 1968.  Thirty-five patents have been issued in his name.

     

    An industry activist he joined the Society of Plastic Engineers in 1960.  He served as President of SPE's Chicago section before chairing the Society's National Membership, Divisions, Constitution & Bylaws, Seminars, and John W. Hyatt Awards Committees.  He is also Past President and Charter Member of the Mold Making & Model Design, and Medical Plastics Divisions, and a Founder and Past President of the Product Design & Development Division and the Rotational Molding Division.

     

    His efforts on behalf of SPE have been acknowledged with the Society's Outstanding Service Award (1970), the President's Cup (1983), the Outstanding Achievement in Education Award (1993), the International Award (2003), and the Excellence in Monitoring Award (2014).
    Glenn is an Honored Service Member, as Fellow, and a Distinguished Member of the Society.  The hallmark of his SPE work is the thousands of people who attended the Plastics Technology & Design Seminars he taught from 1973 through 2008.

    John Beaumont
    President
    Beaumont Technologies

     

    John Beaumont is President of Beaumont Technologies and former Program Chair of the Plastics Engineering Technology program at Penn State Erie. He has authored several books including “Runner & Gating Design Handbook” and “Successful Injection Molding” as well as contributing the design chapters of the “Injection Molding Handbook.” His earlier industrial credits include positions as Technical Manager for Moldflow’s US operations and Engineering Manager for Ciba Vision Corp. Shortly after joining Penn State in 1989, he founded and directed the Plastics CAE Center for nearly 20 years. In 2001 John founded Beaumont Technologies which is the pioneer and world leader of in-mold rheological control technologies. John is an SPE Fellow and a past Chair of the Injection Molding Division’s Board of Directors.

    Vikram Bhargava

     

    Vikram Bhargava is a Fellow of the Society of Plastics Engineers and Past Chairman of its Product Design and Development Division.  He recently retired as the Director of Mechanical Engineering Services at Motorola Solutions in Holtsville, NY heading an international group of professionals.  He has over 40 years of experience in product design, development, manufacturing and management, especially in plastics.  He is a sought after trainer and has trained thousands of engineers and suppliers in the proper design and manufacturing of plastic parts and assemblies in the US, China and India and Canada.

     

    He is currently authoring a book on Holistic Product Design to be published by Hanser in 2015.

     

    He holds or has pending over 21 US and International patents.

     

    Vikram has successfully led or leading many Six Sigma projects and is a certified Motorola Six Sigma Black Belt and trainer.

     

    He has a BSME from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, India.

    Suhas Kulkarni

     

    Suhas Kulkarni is the President of FIMMTECH, a consulting firm that specializes in services related to injection molding. He earned his Masters in Plastics Engineering from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell and a Bachelors in Polymer Engineering from the University of Poona, India. He has 22 years of experience as a process engineer. His main area of expertise is Scientific Processing for Injection Molding. Based on his experience, he has developed a custom software called Nautilus, that aids the complete process development routine to production release.

     

    He has given numerous presentations on Injection Molding related topics and written several articles. And publications. He was adjunct faculty at the extended studies department at the University of California, San Diego and is currently a contract faculty at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell. Suhas is also an author of the bestselling book ‘Robust Process Development and Scientific Molding’ published by Hanser Publications.

    Mark D. Wetzel

    Research Fellow
    DuPont Engineering Research and Technology
    Polymer Engineering

     

    Mark Wetzel provides technical leadership for the DuPont Engineering Research and Technology organization’s Polymer Engineering Group in the area of polymer process development, scale-up and analysis. He has over 34 years of experience in various areas interacting with most DuPont businesses, external customers and alliance partners with capabilities that include:

     

    • fundamentals of extrusion and compounding,
    • extrusion and compounding process development,
    • new product development through process innovation, and
    • polymer nanocomposites and the safe handling of nanomaterials.

     

    Since 1995, Mark has collaborated with many leading academics and practitioners in the polymer processing field with over 40 publications on extrusion process characterization, melting fundamentals, residence time distribution, polymer nanocomposites and process control. Mark is an active member of the Society of Plastics Engineers and its Extrusion Division. Mark was elected an SPE Fellow in 2008 and served as the Extrusion Division chair in 2010. Mark is now the Councilor for the Extrusion Division.

    Chandran Rajasundar

     

    Currently a Phd Student at the Composite and Polymer Technology Laboratory (LTC) in EPFL, Switzerland. He graduated with research masters degree in Material Science, from Ecole Centrale Paris, France and a bachelor honors degree in Polymer Technology from Amrita School of Engineering, India.  Raja works on innovative manufacturing technologies for novel thermoplastic and thermoplastic elastomer composite materials. His research interests include additive manufacturing, sustainable composites and rehabilitation technology. His phd focuses on the use of novel composite technology to develop sustainable prosthetic and orthotic devices for developing nations. His current research involves low pressure processing techniques of thermoplastic composites and studying the fusion bonding mechanisms and evaluating their mechanical performance. He has good experience on technology for development having spent several years in Zambia and India working closely with NGOs and academic partners. He is the current vice-president of the YUVA-Indian Student Association, EPFL and head of the YUVA Innovation Platform (YIP), which is driven on providing innovative solutions for basic problems in developing nations and also coordinating a live-in-lab student internship programme in rural villages in India. His is also active volunteer at Embracing the World (ETW) NGO working in Europe and India.

    Abhishek Ambekar

    Abhishek Ambekar is currently working at Celanese as Sr. Process improvement engineer for last 3 years. Before he worked at Metabolix as Process Development Engineer. At both locations mainly my responsibilities are around process development and building scale up technology for various polymer families. His areas of expertise are compounding, Bioplastics, twin screw extruder machinery, extrusion and process development.

    He has a Masters degree in Plastics engineering from University of Massachusetts Lowell and Bachelors in Polymer engineering from University of Pune, India. In Parallel with my job I am working on his PhD in Plastics engineering from University of Massachusetts Lowell. he has several publications in different magazines and has co-author of three ANTEC papers.

    He has been active in Society of plastics engineers (SPE*) for last 7 years. He also have volunteered in different SPE divisions and Special interest groups (SIG). I have been serving on various boards SIG for last 5 years. Currently, He is ‘Chair’ of the Plastics in Building and construction SIG and Vice chair & Technical program chair (TPC) of Bioplastic SIG. he has also served as TPC and communications chair for Building and construction SIG before.
