In the line of "European Thermoforming" and "Additives & Colors Europe", SPE invites European members as well as non-members to join in the formation of a Special Interest Group dedicated to Polymer matrix Composites. As with every new European Division "Polymer Composites" SIG will operate mainly in Europe still aiming at international resonance as does the current Composites Division operating mainly in North America.

A first contact meeting was held in Baden-Baden September 18, 2005 with professionals from the industry and from universities. The second was in Essen in 2006.

For more information, contact one of the following members:

Division Scope:
It will be the purpose of the “Composites Europe” SIG to promote scientific and engineering knowledge relating to applications, materials, tooling, machinery, and processing techniques for the composites industry in Europe. The SIG will encourage its members to contribute, solicit, and accumulate such knowledge and disseminate the same through publications and technical meetings.

It will further be the SIG’s objective to assist other entities within the Society of Plastics Engineers in organizing all major technical programs in which there is any composites content. It will further be the SIG’s objective to coordinate with other interested national and international societies, organizations, and educational institutions for the purpose of propagating the understanding of composites applications, materials, tooling, machinery, and processing as defined by the SIG.
