The purpose of the Society of Plastics Engineers' Sigma Pi Epsilon Honor Society is to recognize outstanding achievement by students in a plastics related field of study.

Eligibility

    1. Applicants must be students either at a four-year college or in a two-year technical program. Undergraduates (junior and seniors) and graduate students are eligible. Students in the second year of a two-year technical program will be considered seniors.
    2. Applicants must be members of the Society of Plastics Engineers.
    3. Deadline for entry is February 15th.

Criteria

    1. Applicants must be working toward a degree in a plastics related field of study, including but not limited to plastics engineering or engineering technology, polymer science, chemistry, physics, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering or engineering technology, industrial engineering or business administration.
    2. Applicants must have demonstrated outstanding scholastic achievement in their course of study. Juniors must have a 3.5 out of a 4.0 GPA or higher and seniors and graduate students must have a 3.25 out of 4.0 GPA or higher. In addition, the applicants must be ranked in the top 1/4 of their class as a junior of the top 1/3 as a senior or graduate student.
    3. Applicants must have completed a minimum of 20 credit hours in a plastic related field of study
