Abstract:
The differences between direct and indirect cooling
will be explained in terms of the individual equipment
design and operation. A comparison between the
cooling capacities of direct and indirect units
will further assist attendees in identifying which
type of cooling to specify for their applications.
Examples for different processes and applications
will then be used to show the type of cooling
that works best for the individual application.
The presentation also discusses why cooling, though
commonly overlooked, is possibly the most important
part of the process.
Presenter:
Wes Moffitt, Wittmann Inc.
Wes served in the U.S. Coast Guard prior
to becoming a sales representative for a diverse
line of injection-molding equipment, automation,
and auxiliaries. In 2002, he became a sales representative
for a variety of products for the plastics industry,
including Wittmann automation and auxiliary equipment.
Three years later, Wes joined Wittmann in the
Water Products Group and was quickly promoted
to manager. With over 10 years’ experience
in the plastics industry, Wes has gained great
knowledge of a variety of processing applications,
including cooling and its requirements, and in-depth
knowledge of water-temperature controllers and
their specific application.
