Maximum Acceptable LLDPE Melt Temperature
Submitted by William Oberg on Tue, 05/26/2009 - 5:02pm
I'm looking for an understanding of the maximum allowable melt temperature for LLDPE in an extruder?? What I’m looking for in particular are:
• Maximum melt temperature for LLDPE.
• What is/are the consequence(s) of exceeding the maximum acceptable temperature?
• What is the maximum melt temperature for LLDPE that you are aware of?
It has been my understanding that the Industry norm is 250 to 260 C, but I am unaware of the basis behind that.

i think not too high temp ,
i think not too high temp , for blown line its about 170 c degree until 200 c degree ...
Max LLDPE melt temperature
LLDPE's typically go for two major applications: Blown film & Cast film.
For blown film, grades are designed which can be processed with melt temp in the range of 225 - 230 deg C, while cast film grades are designed to be processed in the range of 280 - 300 deg C.
Higher temperatures will result in gels, die lip burning etc.
