POST-DOCTORAL OPENING IN THE SYNTHESIS OF BLOCK COPOLYMERS FOR POROUS MEMBRANE FABRICATION FOR BIOMEDICAL WATER PURIFICATION

Dear Colleagues,

there is a post-doctoral opening in my group at the University of Cyprus, funded by the European Commission, available from September 1, 2009, for one year in the first instance, but renewable for up to three years. The work will involve:
(a) preparation of block copolymers using controlled / living polymerization,
(b) polymer solution characterization using light scattering,
(c) preparation of porous membranes from the block copolymers,
(d) characterization of the membranes using atomic force microscopy, and
(e) evaluation of the membranes for the purification of water from viruses and proteins.
