Post-doctoral Position in Polymer Synthesis/Nanotechnology
THE DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY AT THE UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN-STEVENS POINT (www.uwsp.edu/chemistry) has an immediate opening for a post-doctoral position in polymer synthesis/nanotechnology. This one-year appointment may be continued beyond the first year depending on funding and performance. Excellent opportunity for conducting research with motivated undergraduate students and learning about managing and funding an undergraduate research group at a PUI. The successful applicant will lead undergraduate research students working with Professors John Droske and Mike Zach on highly collaborative projects in polymer science and materials nanotechnology. Current research projects include the preparation of bioresorbable bone adhesives (Droske) and deposition of inorganic nanostructured materials (Zach). Candidate must have strong organic synthesis and characterization skills. Individuals with expertise in polymer synthesis and characterization or inorganic materials are especially encouraged to apply. Ph.D. required. Candidate’s primary responsibility will be conducting research with and providing guidance to undergraduate research students and assisting with grant and manuscript preparation, as needed.
