There is an immediate opening for a Postdoctoral Associate in the area of synthetic polymer chemistry. The project focuses on the preparation of new hydrocarbon polymers based on the insertion polymerization of strained cyclic olefins. Successful candidates should have experience in organic synthesis (pericyclic reactions, Diels-Alder reactions, functional group manipulation), some experience in organometallic chemistry (catalyst preparation, handling air/moisture sensitive compounds), and standard characterization techniques. The appointment is for one year, and potentially renewable for a second year. Preference will be given to people who can think critically and creatively.
