Welcome to the Quality and Continuous Improvement SIG. This group is just getting more organized. I am the Chair and would like to promote a joint effort, such as a technical conference session, between SPE and the American Society for Quality (ASQ). Are any of you joint members of the two societies and would you like to get involved?
Besides that, please use this forum to ask and answer questions to help each other apply the best practices in quality to the plastics industry.

Quality improvement comment
A good idea with such a group.
I have been working with process optimization in injection molding for about 8 years and as quality control manager in another injection molding company for 2 years before becoming Lean/Six Sigma Manager (in the same company).
I have seen and still see many potential improvements not only at my company but globaly at injection molding companies.
Mold quality, mold and machine maintenance, process set up and optimization, analytical trouble shooting and so on.
I think this is a very interesting field of work, and looking forward to see what discusions will show up in this forum.

SPE and ASQ
Hello,
Is there anyone else who is a member of both SPE and the American Society for Quality (ASQ)? If so, is there any interest in developing something like a technical track at a conference that incorporates both quality and plastics together (i.e, a plastics track at an ASQ conference or a quality track at an SPE conference)?
