Cindy Hammer (right) was recognized as the 2009 Outstanding Member of the Detroit Section. She was President of the SPE Student Chapter at Ferris State University in 1991-1992 and has served the Detroit Section in many capacities, including President, over the years. She is currently the Newsletter Editor. The award was presented by her father, Lou Lewallen, who himself was a President of the Detroit Section and was its Outstanding Member in 1996.
