A presentation on a student research project sponsored by the Detroit Section was made at a recent SPE meeting by the members of Keith Young's Ecotek team.  The focus of the project, completed by students from various high schools,  was to understand how plastics are used in the shoe manufacturing industry and how recyclable or biodegradable plastics can be incorporated to reduce landfill waste.  Shown with the Ecotek team are Detroit Section members Jim Keeler, Chair of Education/Student Chapters (left); Sandra McClelland, Past President (rear); and Gary Kogowski, President (right).
