SPE Section Education / Husky Award
2009 Award Application
Husky has generously provided SPE with the $5,000 honorarium that will further a Section's educational goals. The award is based on educational plans that the Australia-New Zealand Section will be able to implement because of this award.
Over the next 12 months, the Section will work with and coordinate the resources of seven organizations on four projects that support young people seeking a career in the plastics industry. These projects include a workplace training experience for students in the automotive/injection molding industry; the development of trial programs to introduce young people to the workforce as apprentices and to obtain accreditation of a pre-apprenticeship program in Victoria; and two mentoring programs between Australian Plastics Pioneers and two schools - Northland Secondary College and Warren South P-12 college.
