Join a Technical Group

Whether your focus is basic research, applying new technology, or tracking the technology that affects your customers, SPE technical Divisions are your first source of information and your portal to a worldwide community of like-minded peers who are shaping the future of plastics.

SPE Technical Groups include:

Technical Divisions

Your SPE membership includes a free membership in one of our technical Divisions. You selected your primary Division when you joined or renewed your membership and it is listed on your SPE membership card and in your personal membership record. Members can join additional Divisions for a nominal fee. SPE Divisions are for members only.

How to Join Additional Divisions

  1. Log in to the SPE website using your USER ID (refer to your membership card) and PASSWORD.
  2. Click Technical Groups on the SPE home page.
  3. Browse SPE Technical Groups by specialty or location.
  4. When you've found the one(s) you want to join, click the Join Group button at the bottom of page. You will be charged a nominal annual fee for each additional Division joined.

Special Interest Groups

Want to track information and develop contacts in new and emerging areas of plastics? Then SPE SIGs are your answer! SIG membership is free and open to all plastics professionals.

How to Join a SIG:

  1. Log in to the SPE website using your USER ID and PASSWORD. You will be directed to your personalized members-only page.
  2. From the top menu bar, click the Edit My Profile button
  3. Scroll down to the Special Interest Groups section and select the SIGs you want to join from the drop-down menu.

Nonmembers who are new to www.4spe.org will need to create an account before they can join a SIG.

SPE Sections

Experience networking where it really counts—in your area! Affiliation with your local Section is free with your SPE membership. SPE Sections are for members only.

Members who join or renew online can select the Section closest to their geographic area. Otherwise, Section membership is assigned by SPE Headquarters based on the postal code in your preferred address.

How to Verify Your Current Section

  1. Check your SPE Membership card.
  2. Can't find your card? View your personal membership record by logging in to the SPE website using your SPE USER ID and PASSWORD. You will be redirected to your personalized members-only page.
  3. From the top menu bar, click the View My Profile button.
  4. Your Section is listed in the Personal Information area.

How to Change Your Section

  1. Log in to the SPE website using your SPE USER ID (refer to your membership card) and PASSWORD. You will be directed to your personalized members-only page.
  2. From the top menu bar, click the Edit My Profile button.
  3. Select the Section of your choice from the Section drop-down menu.
  4. Save changes.
