Polyalkylene terephthalate fibers for artificial hair are made flame retardant by mixtures of  brominated flame retardants and phosphorus compounds.  The brominated compounds are brominated phosphate esters and the phosphorus compounds are organic cyclic phosphorus compounds or phosphoric acid amides.
