California has developed a catheter for ablating heart lesions based on a conductive tip which energizes flowing salne for ablating the localized tisse.  The electrode tip is formed by injection molding  a plastic foam onto a conductive platinum stem.  Candidate polymer includepolyethylene, polypropylene, ethylene vinyl acetate, polystyrene, epoxy glass and phenol glass.  (RDC 7/6/2011)
