The Microcellular Injection Molding of Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE) Composites

Lee, Turng,and Kramschuster of the University of Wisconsin showed that when 3 wt% of nanoclays are added into LDPE-based polymers, the cell morphology is improved as a result ofthe nucleating effects of the clay. Also, adding low-melt-flow LDPE into high-melt-flow LDPE resulted in smaller and denser bubbles than high-melt-flow LDPE alone. (RDC 11/6/2010)
