Fuel cell

Mogi and Shibata of Canon, Japan  has developed a fuel cell in which produced water can be efficiently conveyed to an upstream region of hydrogen gas flow, thereby quickly increasing the power generation performance of an electrolyte membrane after activation in a short period of time and giving a stable output for a long period of time.  (RDC 1/11/2011)

Rotable fuel cell system

Hoffjann et al of Airbus, Germany has developed a system for removing the water which is generated on the cathode side as a result of the electrochemical reaction.  The fuel cell is rotated and the water removed by centrifugal force.  The air channels on the cathode side are radially arranged in a spiral shape from the inside towards the outside.
