Foamed-wall container having a silvery appearance
A microcellular foam container is formed by injection molding a resin such as PET containing a dissolved inert gas such as carbon dioxide, cooling the resin below its softening temperature.  This perform is removed from the mold, heated above its softening temperature and, then, placed in a mold and blow molded into shape.  The resulting container has a silvery appearance.  Bubbles and formed at the surfaces, forming outside and inside foamed regions and an inner unfoamed center.  (RDC 11/30/2010)
