Polyvinylphosphonates
Weil of the Stauffer Chemical Company prepared copolycondensed vinylphosphonates by co-condensation of a (2-haloalkyl) vinylphosphonate, such as a 2-haloethyl or 2-haloisopropylphosphonate with a pentavalent phosphorus ester of the structure ROP. This polymer was used to fire proof textiles by polymerization on the fiber surfaces or within the fiber structure. (RDC 11/16/2010)
