Rubber Extrusion
Extruding rubber materials requires special screws and techniques. (RDC 10/20/2009)
When a rubber material is to have a fixed cross-section, such as a tire tread or a side wall, an screw extruder is generally used. For instance, in the step of extruding a tire tread, a kneaded and blended rubber material is heated with a warming mill and sent to an extruder hopper extruded from the nozzle and cut to the required length.
