Bob Dealey
Abstract: Bob presents seminars and lectures on all subject matters related to Injection Mold Design and topics range from general design presentations to specific subjects, such as Runnerless Molding Systems, Mold Design, Mold Actions and Materials used in Mold Making. Seminars range from one day to three days and in plant seminars can be tailored to specific needs. SPE seminars are open to all companies and in-plants have included companies involved in cell phones, automotive industry, electronics, consumer products and packaging. His international consulting has taken him around the world with over 100 seminars and presentations made in 12 different countries. Bio: Bob operates Dealey's Mold Engineering, Inc., and International Plastics Management, Marketing and Technical Consulting Firm. With over 30 years technical experience in all phases of Injection Molding and Mold Engineering he graduated from UW-Stout. He has authored chapters for SPE and SPI on Mold Making, Materials and an CD animated Injection Mold Design Tutorial. He was a contributing author for Modern Mold & Tooling and Modern Plastics and delivered 100 presentations and seminars worldwide. A past Chairman of the Mold Making and Mold Design Division and Honored Service Member of SPE, he was named 1994 Mold Designer of the Year. Additional Requirements: |

Barbara Arnold-Feret
Abstract: As products are developed, parts usually have different needs for volumes, cosmetics, tolerances, and mechanical properties. The costs of each factor has to be weighed against which process and tooling type is most cost effective in the lifecycle of the product and in the initial capital costs. The presentation examines the breakdown in tooling costs versus part cost versus volume. The attendee should have a better understanding of volume constraints, tooling costs, and the possibility of using different types of tooling and processing during the commercialization phase of the product. Bio: Barbara has over 20 years of experience in various processes, materials and technologies including rapid prototyping, injection molding, thermoforming, blow molding, extrusion, rotomolding, and materials. An Senior Member, Honored Service Member, and Executive Committee Member of SPE, she is the former Chair of the Product Design and Development Division and past President of the North Texas Section of SPE. She is also a Sr. Member of SME, and co-chairs the Plastics, Composites and Coatings Technical Community. She lives outside of Ft. Worth Texas. Additional Requirements: |
