SPE Milwaukee Motorcyle Ride Held on September 28, 2008

For the first time ever, the SPE Milwaukee section held a motorcycle ride. Originally scheduled to be held on 9-14-2008, it was cancelled due to the rain. After missing out on a gorgeous Sunday (9-21-2008), we weren’t going to take any chances and make an impromptu decision to go ahead with the ride this past Sunday.

65 degrees and partly cloudy, a group 9 bikes and 11 total riders showed up at the Mukwonago park and ride. Heading out at about 10:25 am, we rode on to Lake Geneva. Following some great riding roads and wonderful scenery, we made it to Fischer’s on Bottoms Bay at around 12:30pm. The route was about 55 miles long and took around 2 hours.

The group was made up of Harley-Davidson’s, Honda’s, Ducati’s and a very interesting Volkswagen powered trike. A very diverse group which made it more fun and interesting. Four people won a $25.00 Citgo gas card each. The drawing was random and the names were selected from the riders that made it to Fischer’s.

Overall the feedback from each rider was positive and complimentary. Unfortunately, we were did not have the luxury of time on our side when the new ride date was figured out. I apologize to all those who would have liked to attend.
