Essay Contest - "Wonders
of Plastics" essay contest open
to all junior high and high school
students. The international
first prize consists of $1,000 honorarium
and plaque for the student and a $1,000
honorarium for the school. The winning
essay will be printed in SPE's offical
magazine, Plastics

plastics industry is the 4th largest
manufacturing industry in the USA,
employing over 1.3 million people.
Virtually every aspect of our daily
lives has been enhanced by the use
of plastics. But plastics' detractors
often do a better job drawing attention
to themselves, using misinformation
and "junk science" to undermine
our industry's image.
The
following articles have been placed
in daily and weekly newspapers throughout
the U.S., presenting a positive image
of plastics. To date these articles
have reached over 100 million readers.
