This video examines compression
and injection moulding of thermosetting materials,
physical properties of polymers and how these
vary with temperature changes, compounding,
extrusion, extrusion of pipe, cross head and
co extrusion, blow moulding, blown film and
printing, production of fibres and printing
on plastics.
Actual footage shows how material
is handled, how various products are manufactured
(such as pipe, cable, carpet, film) and the
application of printing on plastic products.
Computer graphics are used to help explain the
various processes. This is a solid primer for
secondary teaching institutions, trade and technician
courses, vocational and university students,
sales reps, new employees or anyone who wants
a substantial overview of material selection
for specific processes. (This product was reviewed
and approved by SPE members).
The double CD pack of each program
has been specially designed for the teaching
situation and induction of staff into the workplace.
One CD is a VCD of the program playable on a
DVD player. The second CD consists of the script
and a PowerPoint presentation of the computer
graphics ideal for class notes and lecture theatre
plus an Mpeg version of the program ideal for
the office situation. These features are all
self-installing.
