General Information

This intensive five-day program includes classroom instruction and plant tours. Group lunches, welcome receptions and a dinner facilitate maximum exposure and interaction among the instructors and attendees.

Classroom Instruction
Professional leaders in the thermoforming industry teach this intensive course. With these experts, attendees review the basic concepts of thermoforming and expand their understanding of thermosets and thermoplastics. The course covers heating the sheet, forming equipment and thermoforming techniques, design guidelines and considerations, detail part design and essential follow-through. Costing, purchasing specifications, cost-reduction techniques, tooling and all-important troubleshooting receive particular emphasis.

Who Should Attend
Anyone considering or currently having products thermoformed. An excellent way to gain a working knowledge for better understanding and communication of all aspects of the thermoforming processes. Of great benefit in designing, engineering, tooling, production, trimming, secondary operations, selling and purchasing.

Plant Tours & Career Development Center Plastics Shop Tour
Gain insight through your expertly guided visit of Spartech Plastics, a custom sheet extrusion plant; Better Bath Components, a large cut-sheet custom thermoforming plant; and Skyline Career Development Center, a high school that offers a superb 3-year vocational plastics program.

Texas Theme Dinner
Don’t miss this dinner, funded by our sponsors, in which attendees, speakers and sponsors meet for an informal evening in Dallas. Dine at the “Trail Dust Steakhouse,” renowned for its broiled steaks, ribs and chicken. The Trail Dust Steakhouse features live country bands that add to the Texas atmosphere.
