Dr.
Charrier taught full-time at McGill University,
Montreal for 30 years before taking early retirement
in 2001. He now focuses on educational software
development, while retaining some teaching duties
at McGill. His first engineering degree is from
E.N.S. Arts & Metiers in France and his M.Eng
and Ph.D. are from the University of Akron. His
teaching and research interests in the properties
and processing of polymeric systems have encompassed
plastics, elastomers, and composites. He has taught
numerous seminars on a variety of subjects associated
with polymeric materials. He is a past President
of the Quebec Section of the Society of Plastics
Engineers. He is the author of a comprehensive
textbook on "Polymeric Materials and Processing,”
and the developer of several educational software
programs on polymeric materials as well as metallic
materials. The textbook and the software are used
in academic institutions as well as industrial
environments.
