Tour of the Akron Waterways Renewed Project - SPE Akron Seciton

[Also known as "Akron’s Big Dig" or "The Tunnel Project"]
Followed by a dinner meeting to discuss the project at The Tangier.

Tour: Meet Promptly at 4:00 at the Mustill Store in Cascade Locks Park, 57 W. North Street, Akron 330-374-5625. Board the Lolly Trolly to view the project and some really big construction equipment to dig the 27-foot diameter tunnel that goes a distance of 6240 feet underneath downtown Akron. Those who wish to may leave the trolley at some points in the tour, walk around and a closer look at things. Details of the project may be viewed at: We expect to be back at the store by 6:00. The tour is FREE!

Dinner Meeting will be at The Tangier, right up the road at 532 W. Market St. about a block from North St. Dinner will be at 6:30 preceded by a social hour. After dinner we will discuss the Akron waterways project that we saw. Since not all those on the TOUR will be interested in dinner, this is a separate registration. Dinner is $20, $10 for students, payable in cash at the meeting.
