DANBURY, CT—January 13, 2021: SPE announced today a four-year extension of its employment contract with Eve Vitale, SPE Foundation’s Chief Executive. The new contract will run through December 31, 2024. Ms. Vitale joined SPE in 2016.

“Under Eve’s leadership, the SPE Foundation has flourished,” said SPE CEO Patrick Farrey. “Eve’s focus on scholarships and grants has encouraged many young people to enter the plastics-industry workforce. Her efforts to expand the PlastiVan® program continue to ‘change the perception of plastics one classroom at a time.’ And her leadership on SPE’s new diversity, inclusion and equity programs are leading us toward a more representative Society and industry,” Farrey says.

According to David Kusuma, SPE Foundation Chair, Vitale’s passion and enthusiasm for the SPE Foundation have raised the brand and visibility of PlastiVan®.

“Eve is a true asset to the SPE Foundation,” said Kusuma. “Her work has provided significant impact for future plastics professionals. I’m very pleased that our SPE Foundation will continue to drive towards even higher levels of giving and scholarship, through Eve’s leadership, in collaboration with a highly participative board and newly created committees.”

“I’m excited to continue my work with SPE volunteers, chapters and corporate partners committed to educating young people about career opportunities in plastics,” said Vitale. “With our collective resources and skills we are able to highlight the ways in which our industry makes the world a better place through innovation and sustainable practices.  We’re all especially proud of our new PlastiVideo™  virtual education program which will impact students everywhere.”
