DANBURY, CT—December 12, 2019: The annual 2020 plastics industry Salary Survey, conducted jointly by SPE and MBS Advisors, is slated to open for participation in January. According to Dennis Gros, President of the Recruiting Division of MBS Advisors, the Salary Survey measures how the plastics industry performs when it comes to compensation and work-life balance.
“Historically, the Salary Survey provides an indicator of how those in the plastics industry fare compensation-wise,” said Gros. “Our goal with the survey is to analyze compensation numbers on an annual basis and then to present our findings accurately to those who work in the plastics industry. Doing so also provides valuable insight as to why salaries may trend upward or downward.”
In 2019, a total of 1,439 plastics professionals participated in the yearly Salary Survey and generated data for the year ending last December.
“While the 2019 survey results illustrated that the needle is moving upward when it comes to compensation, other factors such as gender issues and job satisfaction came through as well,” said Patrick Farrey, CEO of SPE. “The best way to approach these factors is to offer the Salary Survey on an annual basis, which is why participation is important – the results provide a barometer for those in the plastics industry who can use the statistics to benchmark their own professional situation.”
The 2020 Salary Survey, which officially launches online on January 14th, will be open to professionals in all segments of plastics processing and their suppliers. After the results are compiled, each participant of the survey will be provided a summary report of the results. SPE members will be able to access the complete survey results as a benefit of membership. For nonmembers, the survey results will be available for purchase.
Dennis Gros will be presenting an in-depth webinar – taking place January 14th from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. EST – concentrating on plastics professionals’ compensation with a focus on earning trends and a glimpse into the future. Registration for “Compensation of Plastic Professionals: Perspective, Trends, and Forecast” is available at www.4spe.org/compwebinar. This webinar is free for SPE members and $199 for non-members.
