Tim A. Osswald Es el Codirector del Polymer Engineering Center, del Colegio de Ingeniería, de la Universidad de Wisconsin -Madison, Madison, WI, Estados Unidos. Es Ingeniero Mecánico de la Universidad de Illinois y obtuvo en 1987 su Doctorado en Mecánica de la misma Institución. Ha sido profesor asociado de la Universidad de Wisconsin y es profesor honorario de Tecnología del Plástico en la Universidad de Erlangen, en Nuremberg, Alemania. El Profesor Osswald ha publicado alrededor de 100 artículos y varios libros sobre procesamiento de polímeros y materiales plásticos. Es también el editor de la serie de Plastics Pocket Power (Hanser, 2001) que Incluye 6 libros. El Prof. Osswald es cofundador de The Madison Group, ejerce como editor de Idioma Inglés de The Journal of Plastics Technology y como editor para las Américas del Journal of Polymer Engineering. Hizo parte de la Misión de Sabios convocada en 2019 por el Ministerio de Ciencia, Tecnología e Innovación de Colombia.

Tim A. Osswald is Co-Director of the Polymer Engineering Center, at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, U.S.A. Mechanical Engineer from South Dakota School of Mines and Technology where he got also his Master Degree. At 1987 he obtained his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineer at University of Illinois. He has been Associate Professor at University of Wisconsin-Madison and is Honorary Professor of Plastics Technology at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg in Germany and the National University of Colombia. He has published over 100 papers and several books about polymer processing and plastic materials. Professor Osswald is also the series editor of Plastics Pocket Power (Hanser, 2001), which currently includes 6 books. He is one of the co-founders of The Madison Group, and is the Director of the Technical Advisory Board of SIMTEC Silicone Parts. Besides he serves as English Language Editor for The Journal of Plastics Technology and as an editor for the Americas of the Journal of Polymer Engineering. He was part of the “Mission of Wise Men” convened in 2019 by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation of Colombia.
