MEET YOUR PITTSBURGH SPE BOARD

President - Andy May

Andy May is a Plastics Tooling Engineer in the Global Operations group with MSA.  Andy has a B.S. in Plastics Engineering Technology, and has served on the Pittsburgh SPE Board of Directors for the last two years. 

 

Vice President – Chad Zediker

Chad is a graduate of the Penn State Behrend Plastics Engineering Technology program, Class of 2001.  He is currently employed as a Project Manager at Philips Respironics in Murrysville, PA.  Chad has been a member of the SPE since 1998 and actively involved on the SPE Board of Directors for the Pittsburgh Chapter since 2006.  Past positions held for the Pittsburgh Chapter include: President (2011-2012), Vice President (2010-2011), Golf Outing Chair (2008-2012).

 

Treasurer– Dave Masilunas

Dave is employed by Philips Respironics as a Project Manager in the Patient Interface Group.  He is a 2004 graduate of the Penn State Behrend Plastics Engineering program and a 2008 graduate of the Waynesburg University MBA program.  Dave has served on the Pittsburgh Section Board since 2006 in various leadership capacities.  

 

Councilor – Al Ulrich

Al is an Account Manager for Healthcare Markets for PolyOne Distribution.  Prior to that, he has held Sales Positions with Albis Plastics and ICL America, as well as 14 years of technical experience in the plastics industry with Washington Penn Plastics and PCR, Inc.  He has been on the Pittsburgh SPE Board of Directors for 19 years and is a past President and Golf Committee Chair.

 

Membership Chair – Rick Haibach                                                                

Rick is currently a Senior Mechanical Engineer at Philips Respironics in the Patient Interface - Applied Research group.   Rick is a graduate of Penn State Behrend with a B.S. in Plastics Engineering Technology and a graduate of Point Park University with a M.S. Engineering Management.  Since 2008, Rick has held various roles on the SPE Board of Directors including President of the Pittsburgh Section during the 2012-2013 terms.  

 

Communications Chair – Blake Kittridge

Blake has been an active member of the Pittsburgh SPE since 2012. Blake graduated from Penn State Behrend, with a B.S. in Plastics Engineering Technology in 2012 with the Medical Plastics Certificate. Blake is currently employeed as an Associate Mechanical Engineer at Philips Respironics.

 

Dick Cameron

Dick is a veteran Plastics marketing professional with 45 years of experience in the plastics industry. Dick is currently the President Elect of the SPE.  He will become President at ANTEC in Orlando, FL next March 2015.  In 2003, he founded Cameron Consulting, a plastics consulting services company specializing in strategic and key account planning, marketing, and sales, as well as supply chain management.  

 

Nate Manuel                                                                                   

Nate is currently employed by MSA as an Engineer in the Detection Engineering group. His previous work experience includes 9 years in new product development for the telecommunications, medical, scientific, and consumer goods industries.  Nate is a graduate of Penn State Behrend, with a B.S. in Plastics Engineering Technology, Class of 2005.  Nate has been an active member of the SPE (since 2001). 

 

Mike Vollmer

Mike is currently employed by Conair as a Heat Transfer Sales Engineer.  He has a bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State Behrend (2008) and an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh (2012).

 

Rene Burger

Rene has worked in the Plastics/Tooling Industry since 1981 in various sectors such as Safety, Micro-Electronics, Semiconductor and Consumer.  He has worked at Mine Safety Appliances since 1994 and is responsible for managing/leading major global Plastics Tooling and Process Improvement projects.   He is currently the Global Manufacturing Engineering Manager for Plastics and Finishing.  

 

Jon Newcome

Jon is a retired chemical engineer from Bayer where he headed technical support for the Optical Disc market.  Jon has been a member of the Pittsburgh SPE section since 1976 and is a past president and has served on the board for over 30 years. 

 

Jonathan Stiffy

Jonathan is a Product Development Engineer at Washington Penn Plastic Company, a custom compounder of mineral-reinforced polyolefins headquartered in Washington, Pennsylvania.  He is a MBA graduate of Clarion University of Pennsylvania and an ASQ-certified Quality Process Analyst.  Jonathan also serves as Chairman of ASTM Section D20.10.01 on Static Properties.

 

Bernie Henn

Bernie most recently has been Corporate Product Stewardship Manager for PolyOne (formerly Spartech) and is networking for positions based out of Greater Pittsburgh.  He has served on the Pittsburgh Board of Directors since 2004 and in various capacities (President, Vice President, Communications and most recently Membership Chair).  Bernie has a B.S. in Plastics Engineering from Case Western Reserve University and an MBA from Xavier University.  

 

Zac Williams

Zac is employed by Philips Respironics as a Supplier Quality Engineer in the Patient Interface Group.  He is a 2012 graduate of the Penn State Behrend Plastics Engineering program.  This is Zac’s first year serving on the Pittsburgh SPE Board.  In his free time, Zac enjoys playing hockey and baseball and also working on his home improvement skills.

 

Patrick Petraglia

Patrick is employed by Eagle Manufacturing Company in Wellsburg, WV as a Design Engineer.  He is a 2010 graduate of the Penn State Behrend Plastics Engineering program with a minor in Operations and Supply Chain Management and Management.  Patrick has been a member of SPE since 2006, but this is his first year serving on the Pittsburgh Board.
