DANBURY, CT—May 12, 2020: SPE recently announced the launch of SPE Polymers, a peer-reviewed, fully open access journal dedicated to all aspects of polymer science, polymer engineering, and polymer technology. Open access provides the opportunity to quickly make article acceptance decisions leading to prompt online publication. SPE Polymers articles are immediately open upon publication which also allows for faster broadcasting of research data to a much broader audience.
Starting on May 1, 2020, SPE will begin accepting submissions for the new journal. SPE Polymers is currently soliciting research articles dedicated to polymer science including:
- Polymer synthesis and characterization including gels and hydrogels; polymer modification and polymer blends
- Structure-properties relationships (rheological, mechanical, electrical, tribological, and thermal properties)
- Modeling (continuum and molecular) of polymer behavior
- Polymer composites and nanocomposites; smart polymers
- Additive manufacturing, extrusion, molding, and other processing technologies
- Polymer applications in membranes, foams, packaging films, building and construction, etc.
Comprehensive review articles are of particular interest. For review articles, authors are encouraged to contact Dr. Brian Grady, SPE Polymers Editor-in-Chief, in advance. SPE also welcomes thematic special issues compiled by distinguished guest editors. SPE does not publish conference proceedings but welcomes proposals for special issues originating from conferences.
Submitted articles to be published in SPE Polymers will be peer-reviewed using the same rigorous standards as SPE’s subscription-based journals with increased attention on a rapid peer-review process and online publication. The review standards for SPE Polymers are similar to SPE’s sister journals, Polymer Engineering and Science, Polymer Composites, and Journal of Vinyl and Additive Technology. As is usual for open access journals, there will be an article processing charge to publish in SPE Polymers, but as a courtesy to authors, SPE is waiving the article processing charge for the first six months.
