The Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE) has appointed Sylvain Caillol, Ph.D., as Editor of its technical journal, Polymer Engineering and Science (PES). Polymer Engineering and Science has been one of the most highly regarded journals in the field, serving as a forum for authors on the cutting edge of polymer science and technology.

The importance of PES is underscored by the frequent rate at which its articles are cited, especially by other publications - more than ten thousand times a year. Scientists, engineers, researchers, technicians, and academicians worldwide are looking to PES for the valuable information they need.

PES solicits research articles covering a broad spectrum of ideas and concepts in polymer science, polymer engineering, and polymer technologies including those on green materials and green technologies. 

Sylvain Caillol is a Research Director at National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS). After completing his Ph.D. in Bordeaux, he began his career at Rhodia—the largest French chemical company at the time—where he led polymer R&D. He joined CNRS in 2007 at the Charles Gerhardt Institute, Montpellier. He is widely recognized as a leading expert in sustainable polymer design.

Author of 300+ publications and patents, he has received distinctions including the Green Materials Prize and the Carnot Prize. He is an affiliated Professor at UM6P (Morocco), Vice-President of the French Polymer Society (GFP) and Scientific Officer at the French National Research Agency (ANR).
